Runaway Thoughts

We have the power to create physical and mental health when we pay attention to the thoughts that run amok in our mind.

The power of the mind is phenomenal! Despite being so powerful it is also difficult to control, something of a wild stallion I guess, it requires training as do we in its use. We find ourselves thinking a certain negative or fatalistic way, knowing that these thoughts may be leading us in the wrong direction, yet we find it difficult to stop. For example, many people have the experience of getting sick at the same time every year when there are stressful or busy events happening, or every time they go on a plane for a trip. The stress and concerns they have at these times cause them to run unhelpful tapes through their mind. That horse was given free rein for too long in the mind and look at the result.

Sometimes we need to get sick in order to process something or move something through our body. Its slows us down, forces us to rest and spend time alone doing very little. But often we get sick or feel exhausted because we don’t make the effort to galvanize the power of our minds in the service of our physical health, which is one of its most important functions. We really can use it to communicate to our body, yet we often regard the two as separate entities that have little to do with one another. This is not true they are fully interwoven and connected.

We have the power to create physical and mental health, simply by paying attention to the thoughts running amok in our minds. Once you know what tapes are playing you can start to pay attention to the tone and simply change the thoughts to positive ones. You are training your mind and yourself to think positive thoughts more often. This takes reptition and time. When we choose supportive, healing words that foster good health and high spirits, we harness the power of the mind in our defense. All we need to do is to train the wild stallion of our mind with the attentive and loving hand of a master trainer taking loving care of their beloved horse and better outcomes and better health is yours to had.
